Alchemy Cake

Definition of Alchemy – a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination

The ingredients in this cake do just that. The main ingredient is water. There are no eggs, butter or milk. The end result is the most gorgeous, moist chocolate I have ever eaten. Sorry other chocolate cake recipes, this one beats you all!

Water – 380ml

Sunflower Oil – 80ml

Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp

Mix together

Plain Flour – 370g

Baking Powder – 2 tsp

Caster Sugar – 240g

Cocoa Powder – 60g

Mix together

Gradually pour the water mixture onto the dry ingredients , mixing well with an electric mixer between each addition until everything is combined with no lumps.

Line the base of a 18-20cm springform cake tin and pour in the chocolate mixture.

Bake at 180 deg/GM4 for about 40 minutes.

I love it with some custard

Cool completely in the tin before turning out.
